Albany
Albany drone videography
We fly concerts, arena events, university and government campuses, construction progress and real estate across Albany, Troy, Schenectady and Saratoga Springs. For concerts and events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Airports and federal sites
Albany International sits under Class C airspace northwest of downtown, and downtown lies under an outer shelf that starts well above drone altitudes. Schenectady County Airport has Class D airspace. Watervliet Arsenal, Stratton Air National Guard Base at Schenectady County Airport and the Navy support unit in Saratoga Springs are federal no-drone areas, closed from the ground to 400 feet around the clock. We check every Albany location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Saratoga venues
Saratoga Race Course bans drones on its grounds, so race-season work is arranged with the track or flown from approved sites nearby. Saratoga Performing Arts Center sits inside Saratoga Spa State Park, where state park permit rules apply.
State parks and arenas
New York State Parks require a prior written permit to launch, land or fly a drone on park property, and commercial filming goes through the State Parks film permit process. Inside MVP Arena and other venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

FAQs
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Albany?
It depends on the address. Albany International has Class C airspace northwest of downtown, and several federal sites nearby are closed to drones. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Can you fly near Watervliet Arsenal?
No. The arsenal is a federal no-drone area, closed from the ground to 400 feet. We plan Troy and Watervliet shoots clear of it.
Can you fly at Saratoga Race Course?
Not without the track's approval. The race course bans drones on its grounds, so we arrange race-season work with the track.
Can you film at Saratoga Spa State Park?
Only with a New York State Parks drone permit, which we request ahead of the shoot.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
