Rochester
Rochester drone videography
We fly downtown festivals, arena shows, university campuses, corporate sites, construction progress and real estate across Rochester and the Finger Lakes. For festivals and concerts we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Class C airspace
Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International sits under Class C airspace, and downtown Rochester is inside its surface area, so most downtown flights need LAANC or FAA authorization. We check every Rochester location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Watkins Glen and venues
Watkins Glen International is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Inside Blue Cross Arena and other venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Letchworth and state parks
New York State Parks require a prior written permit to launch, land or fly a drone on park property, and commercial filming goes through the State Parks film permit process. That covers Letchworth State Park and the Finger Lakes state parks. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed.

FAQs
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Rochester?
It depends on the address. Downtown Rochester is inside the Class C surface area for Rochester International. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Can you film Letchworth State Park?
Only with a New York State Parks drone permit, applied for ahead of the shoot. We handle the permit for park projects.
Can you fly near Watkins Glen International?
Not inside the FAA flight restriction during covered events at the track. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.
Can you fly inside Blue Cross Arena?
Yes, with the venue's approval. Indoor arena flights use small drones and a set flight plan.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
