Cleveland
Stadiums, concerts and the lakefront
Huntington Bank Field and Progressive Field are on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. For concerts and festivals, our crew flies EDC Las Vegas as a three-pilot drone team for the Hulu live stream and flew sub-100-gram livestream drones for UNITY at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Cleveland Metroparks and Cuyahoga Valley
Cleveland Metroparks allows drones only in designated areas, such as the Polo Fields in South Chagrin, Top O' Ledges in Hinckley and Main Street Diamond in Mill Stream Run, and filming needs a separate special event permit. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval. Ohio state parks prohibit drones without permission from the Division of Parks and Watercraft, except at designated airfields, and ban flights over beaches, crowds, boats and roads, so we ask well ahead of any state park shoot.
Federal sites and Ohio law
The Marine Forces Reserve training center in Brook Park is a federal no-drone area around the clock. Ohio law, in effect since April 2025, makes it a crime to fly in violation of FAA rules, to get in the way of police, firefighters or emergency crews, or to photograph or loiter over a critical facility, such as a power plant, water plant, rail yard, jail, military site or a hospital with an air ambulance, to further a crime. We keep those sites out of the shot unless the owner asks us to film them. Ohio lets cities, counties and park districts set drone rules for their own parks and property, so we check park and event permits before any public-space shoot. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed.
Airspace
Cleveland Hopkins International, about 9 miles southwest of downtown, has Class B airspace, and Burke Lakefront, at the edge of downtown, and Cuyahoga County Airport have control towers, so most Cleveland addresses need LAANC. We check every Cleveland location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Can you fly near Huntington Bank Field or Progressive Field on game days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.
Can you fly in Cleveland Metroparks?
Only in its designated drone areas, and filming needs a separate special event permit. We apply ahead of any Metroparks shoot.
Can you fly in Cuyahoga Valley National Park?
Not without the superintendent's written approval. Launching or landing a drone on National Park Service land is otherwise prohibited.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Cleveland?
It depends on the address. Cleveland Hopkins has Class B airspace, and Burke Lakefront is next to downtown. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
