Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Park are on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Our crew flew drone coverage at Austin City Limits in Zilker Park for the festival's Hulu live broadcast, and the same setup suits Philadelphia festivals and concerts with the organizer's approval. Independence Mall and federal sites

Independence Mall is a federal no-drone area around the clock, and the rest of Independence National Historical Park is National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval. Several Navy sites at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, the Federal Detention Center, the Horsham Air Guard Station in Montgomery County and the Limerick nuclear plant are federal no-drone areas too, and Valley Forge National Historical Park is also National Park Service land.

Pennsylvania law and city parks

Pennsylvania law makes it an offense to use a drone to surveil someone in a private place, to put someone in reasonable fear of bodily injury or to deliver contraband, and it bars cities and towns from regulating drone operation. Property owners still decide who launches from their land, and we keep private spaces out of frame. Philadelphia Parks and Recreation media permits require a separate drone approval before aerial work in city parks. Pennsylvania DCNR allows drones in state parks only at designated flying sites in six parks, including Benjamin Rush State Park in Philadelphia and Hillman State Park west of Pittsburgh, and commercial filming on DCNR land needs prior written authorization.

Airspace

Philadelphia International, about 5 miles southwest of Center City, has Class B airspace, and Northeast Philadelphia Airport has its own control tower, so most Philadelphia addresses need LAANC. We check every Philadelphia location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
