Atlantic City, NJ Drone Videographer and Operator

Casinos, hotels and venues

Our crew flew sub-100-gram livestream drones for UNITY at the Sphere in Las Vegas and an indoor micro-drone fly-through of the Tempo by Hilton hotel in Times Square. Casino floors, ballrooms, hotel towers and arenas suit indoor flights with the property's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. For concerts and events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.

Beach, boardwalk and the shore

Beach and boardwalk shoots need the city's and the event organizer's permits, and Part 107 limits flights over people, so we schedule beach shots early or off-season. The Atlantic City Airshow brings its own flight restriction, so we check NOTAMs for event dates. New Jersey state parks prohibit drones unless specifically approved, recreational flights are not considered, and commercial shoots at Liberty State Park need a policy waiver and a special use permit from the park superintendent.

Federal sites and New Jersey law

The Air National Guard base at Atlantic City International, home of the 177th Fighter Wing, is a federal no-drone area around the clock, and the Warren Grove Range in the Pinelands is one too. New Jersey law makes it an offense to fly a drone in a way that endangers people or property, and a crime to interfere with first responders or to endanger or surveil a correctional facility, and it overrides inconsistent county and city drone rules for private use.

Airspace

Atlantic City International, about 9 miles northwest of the city, has Class C airspace, so some Atlantic City addresses need LAANC. We check every Atlantic City location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs

Can you film inside casinos?

Yes, with the property's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs of casino floors, ballrooms and hotel spaces.

Can you fly over the beach in Atlantic City?

Only with the right permits and away from crowds. Part 107 limits flights over people, so we schedule beach shots early or off-season and check NOTAMs for airshow restrictions.

Can you fly drones in New Jersey state parks?

Only with specific approval. State parks generally prohibit drones, and commercial shoots at Liberty State Park need a policy waiver and a special use permit from the superintendent.

Do you need FAA approval to fly in Atlantic City?

It depends on the address. Atlantic City International has Class C airspace. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
