Albany, NY Live Event and Concert Drones

Live event drones in Albany

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Albany. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Albany, NY drone videographer page.

Arena concerts and festivals

Our crew flew aerials for the All Things Go Music Festival at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens. Inside MVP Arena and other venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Saratoga venues

Saratoga Race Course bans drones on its grounds, so race-season work is arranged with the track or flown from approved sites nearby. Saratoga Performing Arts Center sits inside Saratoga Spa State Park, where state park permit rules apply. New York State Parks require a prior written permit to launch, land or fly a drone on park property, and commercial filming goes through the State Parks film permit process.

Airports and federal sites

Albany International sits under Class C airspace northwest of downtown, and downtown lies under an outer shelf that starts well above drone altitudes. Schenectady County Airport has Class D airspace. Watervliet Arsenal, Stratton Air National Guard Base at Schenectady County Airport and the Navy support unit in Saratoga Springs are federal no-drone areas, closed from the ground to 400 feet around the clock. We check every Albany location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
