Biloxi, MS Drone Videographer and Operator

Resorts, beaches and events

Casino resorts, hotels, the beachfront, harbors and events along the coast suit aerials, filmed with the property's or organizer's approval. For resorts and venues an indoor one-take fly-through shows the space in a single shot; see indoor fly-through tours. For concerts and festivals we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.

Keesler and the coast's federal sites

Federal no-drone areas cover the land of each military and security site around the clock. On the coast they include Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, the Air National Guard sites at Gulfport-Biloxi International, Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport, Coast Guard Station Gulfport, Stennis Space Center in Hancock County and the Pascagoula naval complex. We plan every coast shoot around them.

Islands, parks and Mississippi law

Gulf Islands National Seashore, including the barrier islands and Davis Bayou in Ocean Springs, is National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval. Mississippi law makes it a crime to use a drone to record critical infrastructure, such as refineries, power plants, water plants, ports and rail facilities, or a correctional facility without the owner's prior written consent, so we get that consent or keep those sites out of the shot. Mississippi state parks do not allow aircraft, including drones, on park land or water without written permission from the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, so we get it before any park shoot. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed.

Airspace

Keesler has its own control tower, and Gulfport-Biloxi International, about 3 miles northeast of Gulfport, has a tower and controlled airspace, so many coast addresses need LAANC or FAA authorization. We check every Biloxi and Gulfport location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs

Can you fly near Keesler Air Force Base?

No. Keesler is a federal no-drone area, and the airspace around it is military controlled airspace.

Can you fly over the barrier islands?

Not from Gulf Islands National Seashore land without written approval. We film from permitted sites and boats outside the park where rules allow.

Do you need FAA approval to fly in Biloxi?

It depends on the address. Keesler and Gulfport-Biloxi International both have control towers. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.

Can you film inside casinos and resorts?

Yes, with the property's approval. We fly indoor one-take fly-throughs that show lobbies, gaming floors and rooms in a single shot.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
