Metairie, LA Drone Videographer and Operator
Air Views Media is a drone videography company serving Metairie, Kenner and Jefferson Parish for events, businesses, real estate, restaurants and brand films. Our crew flew drone content for the John Summit and Dom Dolla Super Bowl week pop-up on Bourbon Street. FAA Part 107 certified pilots, $10M liability standard (optional up to $25M).
Metairie
Next door to New Orleans
For New Orleans itself, including the French Quarter and the Superdome, see New Orleans drone videography; we plan Metairie jobs alongside that work. We flew drone content for the John Summit and Dom Dolla Super Bowl week pop-up on Bourbon Street; read the Bourbon Street case study. For concerts, festivals and events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Businesses, homes and Veterans Boulevard
Old Metairie homes, Lakeside, Fat City, Lafreniere Park and businesses along Veterans Boulevard suit brand and real estate films, filmed with the owner's approval. For restaurants, offices and venues an indoor one-take fly-through shows the space in a single shot; see indoor fly-through tours. Louisiana law bars flying a drone over a permitted parade or parade route, including Mardi Gras parades, unless the flight is for an authorized film or TV production. Louisiana preempts local drone ordinances, but cities and parishes still control takeoff and landing on their own property, so we launch from private property with the owner's approval or get permission.
Stadiums, federal sites and Louisiana law
Parts of eastern Metairie are within a few miles of the Caesars Superdome and Yulman Stadium, both on the FAA stadium list, so we check the 3 nautical mile event restrictions before every shoot. NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse is a federal no-drone area. Unless a flight complies with FAA rules, Louisiana law makes it a crime to record refineries, chemical plants, schools, ports, pipelines or other critical infrastructure without the owner's written consent, to fly over a jail without permission, or to record a military site without the commander's consent; flying over fenced critical infrastructure without authority is a separate crime, so we get written consent first or keep those sites out of the shot. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed.
Airspace
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International sits next to Metairie in Kenner, under Class B airspace that covers much of the metro, and Lakefront Airport has its own tower, so most Metairie addresses need FAA authorization. We check every Metairie location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs
Can you fly near the New Orleans airport?
Only with FAA authorization. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International has a control tower and Class B airspace over much of Metairie and Kenner.
Can you fly over Mardi Gras parades?
Not over a permitted parade or parade route unless the flight is for an authorized film or TV production. Louisiana law bans those flights.
Can you fly near the Superdome on event days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events at the Caesars Superdome and Yulman Stadium.
Can you film schools, refineries or plants in Louisiana?
Only with the owner's prior written consent. Louisiana law makes recording schools, refineries, chemical plants and other critical infrastructure by drone without consent a crime.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
