Festivals and concerts

Our crew flew aerials for the All Things Go Music Festival at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens. Providence's downtown festivals, concerts and waterfront events suit the same coverage inside the organizer's plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Campuses and venues

College events, convention spaces and hotel ballrooms suit small drones and one-take interior tours with the venue's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. Rhode Island has no venues on the FAA stadium list, but we still check NOTAMs for event flight restrictions.

Federal sites and airspace

Naval Station Newport and the Rhode Island Air National Guard base at Quonset State Airport are federal no-drone areas around the clock. Rhode Island T.F. Green International in Warwick, about 6 miles south of Providence, has Class C airspace, so some Providence addresses need LAANC. We check every Providence location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

City park and event permits come from the City of Providence and the event organizer, so we check them before any public-space event. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
