Civic Center and RiverCenter

The Columbus Civic Center arena holds up to about 10,000 for end-stage shows, and its open-air amphitheater sits beside the RiverWalk. RiverCenter for the Performing Arts downtown has a main hall of nearly 2,000 seats. Indoor flights at either venue need the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and the lighting crew, and we fly small, lightweight drones close to the action.

RiverWalk and Uptown events

Festivals, races and riverfront events draw crowds to the RiverWalk and Uptown streets along the Chattahoochee. We plan launch spots with the organizer, keep flights over the river, closed areas and open lanes, and fit inside the event's permit terms. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.

Live feeds for streams and broadcasts

Georgia event drone law

Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three.

Can you film a ticketed show in Columbus?

Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
