Stone Mountain
FPV drone pilot in Stone Mountain
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Stone Mountain for festival recaps, venue fly-throughs, outdoor concerts and brand content. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Stone Mountain, GA drone videographer page. Our headquarters is in Augusta, so Georgia shoots are planned by our home crew.
Festivals and park events
Stone Mountain Park hosts big crowds for events such as the Yellow Daisy Festival, the Highland Games and its drone and light shows. Stone Mountain Park is run by the Stone Mountain Memorial Association, whose rules do not allow drones anywhere in the park without permission from its Chief Executive Officer, and filming there also needs a location agreement, a certificate of insurance and permits through the park's filming office, so we start that paperwork early or film from outside the park. For live event coverage see our Stone Mountain, GA live event drones page. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Village, Tucker and venues
We fly festivals, outdoor concerts, corporate events, venues, homes and neighborhoods around Stone Mountain Village, Tucker and east metro Atlanta, with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Airspace
DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, the nearest towered airport, sits to the northwest, and the area lies under the busy approach paths for Atlanta's main airport, so airspace can change from one address to the next. We check every Stone Mountain location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Georgia drone law
A Georgia law in effect since April 1, 2025 makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a ticketed entertainment event without the consent of whoever controls the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully, so we get the organizer's consent in writing. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three.

FAQs
Can you fly FPV in Stone Mountain Park?
Only with written permission from the Stone Mountain Memorial Association. The park bars drones without its Chief Executive Officer's approval, and filming there also needs a location agreement and insurance.
Can you film ticketed events near Stone Mountain?
Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars flights within 400 feet of a ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.
Can you film venues in Tucker?
Yes. We fly homes, neighborhoods and event venues around Stone Mountain Village and Tucker with the owner's approval.
Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
