Golden 1 Center and indoor venues
Golden 1 Center downtown, the convention center and the city's hotels, theaters and music venues suit FPV with each venue's approval. Indoor flights at an arena need the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and the lighting crew, and we fly small, lightweight drones close to the action. Festivals and livestreams
Our crew has flown the aerial livestream at Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco since 2023, and Sacramento festivals and concerts are planned the same way, inside the promoter's production plan from agreed launch spots. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.
State property and airspace
Much of downtown is state property, including the Capitol grounds and Old Sacramento State Historic Park, so we confirm permission with the agency that manages each site. Sacramento International sits under Class C airspace northwest of downtown, and Sacramento Executive and Mather have their own control towers. We check every Sacramento location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
California drone law and parks
California privacy law makes it an invasion of privacy to enter the airspace above someone's land without permission to capture private or family activity, so we keep homes, yards and people who have not agreed to be filmed out of frame. California State Parks allow drones unless a park has posted an order banning them, and commercial filming in a state park needs a State Parks permit through the California Film Commission, with drone paperwork filed ahead of the shoot.

Can you fly over the Capitol grounds in Sacramento?
Only with permission from the agency that manages the site, since much of downtown, including the Capitol grounds and Old Sacramento State Historic Park, is state property.

What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
