FPV drone pilot in Indianapolis

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Indianapolis for arena and stadium events, motorsport brand launches, venue fly-throughs and live feeds. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Indianapolis, IN drone videographer page.

Gainbridge Fieldhouse and Lucas Oil Stadium

Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Pacers and Fever, and the city's theaters, hotels and the Indiana Convention Center suit indoor FPV with the venue's approval. Indoor flights at an arena need the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and the lighting crew, and we fly small, lightweight drones close to the action. Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Colts, has a retractable roof. Lucas Oil Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway prohibits flying drones on all of its property, and IndyCar and NASCAR races are on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after each race. We fly speedway-related brand and launch work away from the track and outside those windows. Our crew flew drones down the Las Vegas Strip and around the F1 cars at the 2022 Las Vegas Grand Prix launch party, and plans motorsport launches the same way.

Film Indy and city permits

Film Indy, the city's film office, lists use of drones among requests that need a film permit, and every production needs a film application on file and proof of liability insurance before the permit is released. Its FAQ says drones may not fly above Monument Circle and that drone work in Marion County needs an FAA-certified pilot. We check every Indianapolis location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

State and local rules

We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
