Hotels, venues and brand films

Downtown hotels, venues, riverfront parks and manufacturers suit hospitality, brand and construction films, filmed with the owner's approval. Our crew has flown one-take interior fly-throughs of more than 15 Charleston-area hotels for Vive Media; see indoor fly-through tours. For concerts, festivals and games we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.

Events and broadcast

We flew live broadcast drone work for the T-Mobile 5G Range Show at the 2024 PGA Championship; read the PGA Championship case study. We also fly EDC Las Vegas as a three-pilot drone team for the Hulu live stream.

Federal sites and Indiana law

The Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base at the airport is a federal no-drone area around the clock, and Grissom Air Reserve Base, west of the city near Peru, is too. Indiana law makes it a crime to use a drone to interfere with police, firefighters or emergency crews, or to film people in private places without their consent, so we keep private spaces out of frame. Indiana DNR properties, including state parks, reservoirs and state forests, ban drones except at designated sites, and the DNR grants licenses to launch and film only occasionally, so we contact the property manager well ahead. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed.

Airspace

Fort Wayne International, about 7 miles southwest of downtown, has Class C airspace, so many Fort Wayne addresses need LAANC. We check every Fort Wayne location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs

Can you fly near the Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base?

Not over the base, which is a federal no-drone area. Nearby addresses also sit in the airport's Class C airspace and need LAANC.

Can you film hotels and venues indoors?

Yes. Indoor fly-throughs need the owner's approval but no FAA airspace authorization, so they are often the simplest shoot to schedule.

Can you fly drones in Indiana state parks?

Only at sites the DNR designates for drones or with a DNR license to launch and film. We contact the property manager well ahead with our FAA certificate and insurance.

Do you need FAA approval to fly in Fort Wayne?

It depends on the address. Fort Wayne International has Class C airspace. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
