Newark, NJ Live Event and Concert Drones

Live event drones in Newark

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Newark. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Newark, NJ drone videographer page.

Fan festivals and concerts

Our crew flew five days of live coverage, live to FOX, at the FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta. Newark fan events, arena concerts and festivals suit the same live coverage inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Stadium events

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We fly stadium events only inside an approved production.

Class B airspace and federal sites

Newark Liberty International, about 3 miles south of downtown Newark, has Class B airspace, and Teterboro's control tower covers more of North Jersey, so most Newark and Jersey City addresses need LAANC or other FAA authorization. The Statue of Liberty, across the harbor from Jersey City, is a federal no-drone area around the clock. We check every Newark location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Permits

Park, street and event permits come from the city and the event organizer, so we check them before any public-space event. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs

Can you fly at MetLife Stadium on event days?

Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events, unless we are part of the approved production.

Do Newark events need FAA authorization?

Almost always. Newark Liberty's Class B airspace covers the city, so we file LAANC or FAA authorization first.

Can you fly inside a Newark arena?

Yes, with the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and lighting.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
