FPV drone pilot in Tulsa

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Tulsa for architecture films, venue fly-throughs, concerts and brand launches. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Tulsa, OK drone videographer page.

Architecture and downtown

Our crew filmed aerials of The Independent, the Austin tower known as the Jenga building, for Science Channel's Impossible Engineering. Tulsa's Art Deco downtown, the riverfront and its event venues suit close FPV lines, flown with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Concerts and game days

Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium at the University of Tulsa is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Tulsa, OK live event drones.

Federal sites and city permits

The 138th Fighter Wing's Air National Guard base at Tulsa International is a federal no-drone area around the clock. City park and event permits come from the City of Tulsa and the event organizer, so we check them before any public-space flight. We check every Tulsa location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Oklahoma drone law

Oklahoma law bars flying a drone below 400 feet over fenced or posted critical infrastructure, such as refineries, substations, water plants, pipelines, rail yards and cell towers, unless a commercial operator is FAA-authorized for that airspace or the operator has written consent, and SB 1441, in effect since November 1, 2026, adds criminal penalties. Refineries and industrial sites are planned with the owner's written consent.

FAQs

Can you fly FPV through Art Deco buildings downtown?

Yes, with the owner's approval. Lobbies and interiors suit one-take fly-throughs, and exteriors are planned around crowds and airspace.

Does Oklahoma law limit drones over industrial sites?

Yes. Flying below 400 feet over fenced or posted critical infrastructure is barred unless a commercial operator is FAA-authorized for that airspace or the operator has written consent, and since November 1, 2026 violations carry criminal penalties.

Who issues permits for public-space flights in Tulsa?

The City of Tulsa and the event organizer, so we check both before any public-space flight.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
