Rock Hill, SC FPV Drone Pilot and Operator

FPV drone pilot in Rock Hill

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Rock Hill for BMX and cycling FPV, tournament content, campus films and brand launches. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Rock Hill, SC drone videographer page.

BMX, the Velodrome and tournaments

Our crew flew drones down the Las Vegas Strip and around the F1 cars at the 2022 Las Vegas Grand Prix launch party. Rock Hill's BMX Supercross Track, which hosted the 2017 and 2024 UCI BMX Racing World Championships, and the Velodrome suit chase-style FPV, flown with the organizer's approval and clear of riders and spectators. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Rock Hill, SC live event drones.

Winthrop, Old Town and Riverwalk

Winthrop University, Old Town Rock Hill and the Riverwalk communities along the Catawba River suit campus, tourism and builder films, flown with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Airspace and South Carolina law

Rock Hill-York County Airport has no control tower, and Charlotte's busy airspace is to the north. We check every Rock Hill location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.South Carolina's Act 150, set to take effect January 1, 2027, makes it a crime to knowingly fly within 1,500 feet of a military installation or a prison or jail without written permission, so we plan routes around those sites.

FAQs

Can you chase BMX riders with an FPV drone?

Yes, with the organizer's approval and a flight path that keeps the drone clear of riders and spectators.

Does South Carolina have its own drone law?

Yes. Act 150, set to take effect January 1, 2027, bars knowingly flying within 1,500 feet of a military installation, prison or jail without written permission.

What permits do you need for an event in Rock Hill?

It depends on the venue. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job and get the organizer's written approval.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
