Oxford, MS FPV Drone Pilot and Operator

FPV drone pilot in Oxford

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Oxford for college game day content, venue fly-throughs, weddings, real estate and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Oxford, MS drone videographer page.

Ole Miss and game days

Our crew flew five days of live coverage, live to FOX, at the FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta. Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Ole Miss requires an approved UAS Request Form from University Police before any drone flight on university property. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Oxford, MS live event drones.

The Square, weddings and venues

The Square, historic homes, wedding venues, Sardis Lake and new communities around Oxford suit aerials, filmed with the owner's approval. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.

Airspace and permits

University-Oxford Airport, about 2 miles northwest of town, has no control tower, but some addresses near it still need care. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job. We check every Oxford location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs

Can you fly FPV near Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on game days?

Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.

Can you fly on the Ole Miss campus?

Only with an approved UAS Request Form from University Police, submitted before the flight.

Do you need FAA approval to fly in Oxford?

It depends on the address. University-Oxford Airport has no control tower. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
