FPV drone pilot in Grand Rapids
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Grand Rapids for festival FPV, hotel and brewery fly-throughs, campus content and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Grand Rapids, MI drone videographer page.
Festivals and art events
Our crew flew a one-take micro-drone fly-through of the Camp EDC campground in 2024. Grand Rapids' downtown festivals and art events suit the same one-take FPV inside the organizer's plan. Festivals and big downtown events can bring temporary flight restrictions, so we check NOTAMs the week of any shoot. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Hotels, breweries and campuses
Downtown hotels, convention spaces, breweries and college campuses suit one-take FPV tours, flown with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Airspace
Gerald R. Ford International, about 6 miles southeast of downtown, has Class C airspace, so some Grand Rapids addresses need LAANC. Grand Rapids has no federal no-drone sites or FAA stadium-list venues of its own. We check every Grand Rapids location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
