FPV drone pilot in Des Moines

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Des Moines for arena FPV, corporate campus tours, festivals and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Des Moines, IA drone videographer page.

Arenas and venues

Our crew flew sub-100-gram livestream drones for UNITY at the Sphere in Las Vegas, with the live feed shown on its immersive screen. Inside Wells Fargo Arena and other venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Corporate campuses and festivals

Insurance and financial headquarters suit one-take FPV tours for recruiting films, and downtown festivals are flown inside the organizer's plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. The Iowa State Fair lists drones among the items not allowed at the fair, so any aerial work there has to be arranged with the Fair itself.

Airspace and game days

Des Moines International sits under Class C airspace south of downtown, and we keep clear of the Iowa Air National Guard base at the airport. Jack Trice Stadium in Ames is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We check every Des Moines location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
