Phoenix, AZ Drone Videographer and Operator
Air Views Media is a drone videography company serving Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun for stadium events, concerts, festivals, resorts, real estate and brand films. Our crew flies EDC Las Vegas as a three-pilot drone team, with over-the-crowd drones fed into the Hulu live stream. FAA Part 107 certified pilots, $10M liability standard (optional up to $25M).
Phoenix
Stadiums, the raceway and events
State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Chase Field downtown and Phoenix Raceway in Avondale are on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Arizona law, as amended in 2026, also makes it a misdemeanor to fly a commercial drone within one mile of a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without the event's written consent, unless an exception such as a flight within FAA rules applies, so we get that consent for every show. For concerts, festivals and games we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones. Our nearest regional work is in Las Vegas, where we have flown EDC Las Vegas, the Sphere and the Las Vegas Grand Prix launch; see Las Vegas drone videography.
Luke AFB and federal sites
Luke Air Force Base and its auxiliary fields, Goldwater Air National Guard Base at Sky Harbor, the Papago Park Military Reservation, the federal prison in north Phoenix and the Palo Verde Generating Station to the west are federal no-drone areas around the clock. We plan every Phoenix shoot around them.
Arizona law and parks
Arizona law makes it a felony to photograph or loiter over a critical facility, such as a power plant, substation, water plant, dam, rail yard, prison or military site, in furtherance of a crime, and a misdemeanor to fly in violation of FAA rules or in the way of police, firefighters or emergency crews. We keep those sites out of the shot unless the owner asks us to film them. Arizona bars cities, towns and counties from passing their own drone rules, but general park, film and event permit rules still apply, so we check permits with the city and the organizer. Arizona State Parks prohibits recreational drone use, and commercial flights need a filming permit approved by park management, so we apply well ahead of any state park shoot. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed.
Airspace
Phoenix Sky Harbor, about 3 miles east of downtown, sits under Phoenix Class B airspace, and Deer Valley, Glendale, Goodyear and Luke have their own controlled airspace, so most Phoenix addresses need LAANC or FAA authorization. Wildfire and other hazard TFRs close the airspace to drones with little notice, so we check NOTAMs again on the day of every flight. We check every Phoenix location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs
Can you fly near State Farm Stadium or Chase Field on game days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.
Can you fly near Luke Air Force Base?
No. Luke AFB and its auxiliary fields are federal no-drone areas around the clock, and nearby addresses sit in military controlled airspace.
Can you fly over concerts and games in Arizona?
Only with the event's written consent. Arizona law makes flying a commercial drone within one mile of a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event a misdemeanor without it, and FAA stadium restrictions still apply.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Phoenix?
It depends on the address. Sky Harbor sits under Phoenix Class B airspace, and several other towered airports cover the Valley. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
