Bend
Bend drone videography
We fly concerts at the Hayden Homes Amphitheater, resorts and golf communities, outdoor and brewery brands, weddings, construction progress and real estate across Bend, Sunriver and Central Oregon. For concerts and festivals we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Bend and Redmond airports
Bend Municipal Airport east of town does not allow drones at or over the airport without prior consent, and the FAA has proposed Class D airspace there tied to a new control tower. Redmond's Roberts Field to the north has a control tower and Class D airspace. We check every Bend location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Forests, wilderness and Smith Rock
The Three Sisters and Mount Washington areas west of Bend are designated wilderness, where the Forest Service does not allow drones to take off or land. Oregon State Parks and the ocean shore are closed to drones except at designated drone operation sites or with a special use permit. That includes Smith Rock State Park and Pilot Butte. Wildfire temporary flight restrictions can close large areas in summer and fall, and flying into one is illegal.
Bend parks and Oregon law
Bend Park and Recreation District allows drones in most parks if pilots keep line of sight and stay away from occupied areas and sporting events, does not allow them at Shevlin Park or Riley Ranch Nature Reserve, and requires a film permit for commercial filming. Oregon treats flying below 400 feet over critical infrastructure as a violation unless the operator is FAA-authorized or has the owner's consent, and property owners can sue over repeated low flights after notice.

FAQs
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Bend?
It depends on the address. Redmond's airport has Class D airspace, and the FAA has proposed Class D airspace for Bend Municipal Airport. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Can you fly in Bend city parks?
In most parks, yes, with a district film permit for commercial work. Drones are not allowed at Shevlin Park or Riley Ranch Nature Reserve.
Can you film Smith Rock State Park?
Only at a designated drone site or with an Oregon State Parks special use permit.
Can you fly in the Three Sisters Wilderness?
No. Drones may not take off or land in designated wilderness, so we film from outside its boundaries.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
