Anchorage
Anchorage drone videography
We fly arena and outdoor events, tourism and lodge projects, construction and infrastructure progress, documentary aerials and real estate across Anchorage and Southcentral Alaska. For concerts and events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Class C airspace and floatplanes
Ted Stevens Anchorage International sits under Class C airspace that covers much of the city, and Merrill Field and Lake Hood Seaplane Base add heavy small-plane and floatplane traffic at low altitude. We check every Anchorage location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
JBER and Chugach State Park
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is a federal no-drone area, closed from the ground to 400 feet around the clock. Alaska rules treat drones as aircraft in Chugach State Park, where takeoff and landing are allowed only at the Bold Airstrip at Eklutna Lake. Alaska State Parks commercial filming permits keep drones out of busy public areas such as campgrounds, picnic areas, trailheads and parking lots, require 100 feet of separation from people and wildlife, and need a certificate of insurance naming the State.
National parks and arenas
Denali, Kenai Fjords and the other Alaska parks are National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval. Inside the Alaska Airlines Center, Sullivan Arena and other venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

FAQs
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Anchorage?
It depends on the address. Ted Stevens Anchorage International has Class C airspace over much of the city, with heavy floatplane traffic near Lake Hood. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Can you fly near JBER?
No. Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is a federal no-drone area from the ground to 400 feet. We plan shoots well clear of the base.
Can you fly in Chugach State Park?
Only from the Bold Airstrip at Eklutna Lake, the one place state rules allow takeoff and landing, with a commercial permit.
Can you film Denali or Kenai Fjords?
Not from National Park Service land without the superintendent's written approval. We plan aerials outside park boundaries.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
