Live event drones in St. Louis

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in St. Louis. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our St. Louis, MO drone videographer page.

Brand launches and festivals

Our crew flew drones down the Las Vegas Strip and around the F1 cars at the 2022 Las Vegas Grand Prix launch party, and we plan St. Louis brand launches and festivals the same way, inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Busch Stadium and Enterprise Center

Busch Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Enterprise Center downtown hosts concerts and arena events where we fly with the venue's approval. Indoor flights at the arena need the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and the lighting crew, and we fly small, lightweight drones close to the action.

City drone ordinance and Forest Park

The City of St. Louis regulates commercial drone use through Ordinance 71813, which took effect March 26, 2024 and added Chapter 15.190 to the city code, so we review it for every job. Flying in Forest Park needs a Board of Public Service permit with a certificate of liability insurance, according to Forest Park Forever.

Airspace and federal sites

St. Louis Lambert International, about 10 miles northwest of downtown, has Class B airspace, so many St. Louis addresses need LAANC. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's sites in the city and Jefferson Barracks in south St. Louis County are federal no-drone areas. We check every St. Louis location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Yes. City Ordinance 71813, in effect since March 26, 2024, regulates commercial drone use, and Forest Park flights need a Board of Public Service permit with liability insurance.

Can you fly at Busch Stadium on event days?

Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events, unless we are part of the approved production.

Can you fly at a concert inside Enterprise Center?

Only with the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and lighting. We fly small, lightweight drones close to the action.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
