Live event drones in Seattle

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Seattle. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Seattle drone videography page, and for one-take fly-throughs see our Seattle, WA FPV drone pilot page.

Climate Pledge Arena concerts

Our crew flew drones inside Climate Pledge Arena to film Paramore's 2023 show. The arena, home of the Kraken and Storm, hosts major tours, and we fly there with the venue's approval. Indoor flights at the arena need the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and the lighting crew, and we fly small, lightweight drones close to the action.

Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park

Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park are on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We fly stadium shows only inside an approved production. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Special events and film permits

Seattle's Special Events office says no drone use is allowed in City of Seattle parks, and that drone use at special events generally needs a City of Seattle Master Film Permit. The Film Office conditions for drone filming ask for a description of activities at least three full business days ahead when taking off or landing on city property, written notice to properties within view at least 72 hours ahead, and $2M drone liability insurance naming the City of Seattle. Sea-Tac's Class B airspace and the Class D around Boeing Field cover much of the city. We check every Seattle location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Washington drone rules

Washington State Parks allow drones only in designated areas or with written permission from the park, and commercial filming goes through the State Parks filming application, which should be filed well ahead of the shoot.
