Palm Springs, CA Live Event and Concert Drones

Live event drones in Palm Springs

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Palm Springs. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Palm Springs, CA drone videographer page.

Festival weekends

Our crew flies EDC Las Vegas as a three-pilot drone team, with over-the-crowd drones fed into the Hulu live stream. Coachella at the Empire Polo Club in Indio has had a temporary flight restriction over the festival, so drone work there is arranged through the festival and its broadcast team. We check NOTAMs for every festival weekend before quoting nearby shoots. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Resorts and concerts

Resort events, concerts and private parties are flown inside the organizer's plan, and resorts suit one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Airports, parks and tribal land

Palm Springs International has its own control tower east of downtown, and Jacqueline Cochran Regional in Thermal has FAA drone altitude limits around it. Joshua Tree is National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval. The Indian Canyons are on Agua Caliente tribal land, so we get the tribe's approval first. We check every Palm Springs location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
