Woodstock

FPV drone pilot in Woodstock

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Woodstock for downtown restaurant and shop fly-throughs, trail and retail content, concerts and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Woodstock, GA drone videographer page. Our headquarters is in Augusta, so Georgia shoots are planned by our home crew.

Downtown in one take

Downtown Woodstock's Main Street restaurants, the Elm Street arts district and the Event Green are compact enough for a single FPV line that shows the whole district. For restaurants and shops an indoor one-take fly-through shows the room the way a guest sees it. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Lantern Series, trails and retail

For Lantern Series concerts we fly with Woodstock Arts' approval, on a route that keeps clear of the audience unless our waivers allow otherwise. The Greenprints trail system, including the Noonday Creek Trail into downtown, suits active-lifestyle content, and the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, off I-575, need shots that show access and parking. For live event coverage see our Woodstock, GA live event drones page. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Airspace and Lake Allatoona

Lake Allatoona, to the west, is a Corps of Engineers lake, and commercial drone flights on its land and water need a Corps special-use permit. We check every Woodstock location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Georgia drone law

Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three.

FAQs

Can you fly FPV at a Lantern Series concert?

With Woodstock Arts' approval, on a route that keeps clear of the audience unless our waivers allow otherwise.

Can you fly on Lake Allatoona?

Commercial drone flights on Corps of Engineers land and water at Allatoona need a Corps special-use permit, which we request before the shoot.

Can you film a ticketed show in Woodstock?

Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
