Roanoke
FPV drone pilot in Roanoke
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Roanoke for outdoor brand content, venue fly-throughs, concerts, festivals and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. Concerts, games and festivals
Our crew flew FPV over Kinetic Field at EDC Orlando in 2022. Festivals and concerts are flown inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Downtown and the Blue Ridge
Downtown, the Market, Mill Mountain, Salem and the greenways suit brand, recruiting and real estate films, filmed with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. The Blue Ridge Parkway, which runs along the edge of the Roanoke Valley, is National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval. Virginia state parks ban drones except commercial flights under a special use permit from the park office, so we apply well ahead of any state park shoot. Virginia lets localities regulate drone takeoff and landing only on their own property, so we launch from private property with the owner's approval or get the locality's permission.
Airspace and Virginia law
Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, about 3 miles northwest of downtown, has a control tower and controlled airspace over much of the city, so many addresses need LAANC. Since July 2025, Virginia law makes an unauthorized drone flight over a military base, critical infrastructure, a utility or a federally regulated port facility a felony, so we stay off them unless the operator authorizes the flight. We check every Roanoke location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

Can you fly FPV over the Blue Ridge Parkway?
No. The Parkway is National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval.
Do Roanoke addresses need LAANC?
Many do. Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport has a control tower and controlled airspace over much of the city.
Can you fly FPV in a Virginia state park?

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
