Albuquerque, NM FPV Drone Pilot and Operator

FPV drone pilot in Albuquerque

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Albuquerque for festival FPV, film and TV support, campus content and brand launches. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Albuquerque, NM drone videographer page.

Festivals and film support

Our crew flew a one-take micro-drone fly-through of the Camp EDC campground in 2024. Albuquerque festivals and film and TV sets suit the same one-take FPV, flown inside the production plan. During the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta each October, the FAA restricts drones around Balloon Fiesta Park, so we do not fly there during the event. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Albuquerque, NM live event drones.

Venues and campuses

Hotels, venues and offices suit indoor FPV tours, and campus content is scheduled around university approvals. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. University Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events.

Kirtland and the Sunport

Albuquerque International Sunport sits under Class C airspace and shares its runways with Kirtland Air Force Base. Kirtland, which includes Sandia National Laboratories, is a federal no-drone area from the ground to 400 feet around the clock. Petroglyph National Monument includes National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval. We check every Albuquerque location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
