Colorado Springs, CO FPV Drone Pilot and Operator

FPV drone pilot in Colorado Springs

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Colorado Springs for motorsport and race content, resort fly-throughs, events and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Colorado Springs, CO drone videographer page.

Races and motorsport

Our crew flew drones down the Las Vegas Strip and around the F1 cars at the 2022 Las Vegas Grand Prix launch party. Hill climbs, cycling races and car events around the region suit chase-style FPV, flown inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Colorado Springs, CO live event drones.

Resorts and venues

Resorts, golf clubs and event venues suit one-take FPV from lobby to terrace, flown with the property's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Military bases and airspace

Peterson and Schriever Space Force Bases, Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, the Air Force Academy and Fort Carson are federal no-drone areas around the clock, and restricted areas over and near Fort Carson start at the surface. Falcon Stadium at the Academy is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Colorado Springs Airport has Class C airspace. Drones are prohibited in Garden of the Gods Park. We check every Colorado Springs location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
