Cheyenne, WY Drone Videographer and Operator
Air Views Media is a drone videography company serving Cheyenne and southeast Wyoming for rodeos, festivals, government sites and real estate. Our crew flies EDC Las Vegas as a three-pilot drone team, with over-the-crowd drones fed into the Hulu live stream. FAA Part 107 certified pilots, $10M liability standard (optional up to $25M).
Cheyenne
Cheyenne drone videography
We fly rodeo and western events, downtown festivals, government and corporate sites, construction progress and real estate across Cheyenne. For rodeos and concerts we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Airport and F.E. Warren
Cheyenne Regional Airport has a control tower and Class D airspace next to downtown. F.E. Warren Air Force Base on the west side is a federal no-drone area, closed from the ground to 400 feet around the clock. We check every Cheyenne location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Cheyenne Frontier Days
In 2026 the FAA set a temporary flight restriction within 2 nautical miles of Cheyenne Frontier Days, and the FBI and Cheyenne Police enforced a strict no-drone zone during the event. Any aerial work at the rodeo has to be cleared with the FAA, law enforcement and the organizers ahead of time.
Wyoming drone law and state parks
Wyoming law prohibits flying over or near critical infrastructure, such as power, water, rail, prison and military sites, to photograph or loiter, with an exemption for operators flying under FAA authorization and rules. Wyoming State Parks currently require the department's prior written approval for drones, and rules taking effect January 1, 2027 move that approval to the park superintendent. That includes Curt Gowdy State Park between Cheyenne and Laramie.

FAQs
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Cheyenne?
It depends on the address. Cheyenne Regional has Class D airspace next to downtown, and F.E. Warren Air Force Base is closed to drones. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Can you fly at Cheyenne Frontier Days?
Not without clearance. In 2026 an FAA flight restriction and a strict no-drone zone covered the event, so aerial work must be approved ahead.
Can you fly near F.E. Warren Air Force Base?
No. The base is a federal no-drone area from the ground to 400 feet. We plan west Cheyenne shoots well clear of it.
Can you fly in Wyoming state parks?
Only with prior written approval. Rules taking effect January 1, 2027 move that approval to the park superintendent.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
