Live event drones in Scottsdale
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Scottsdale. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Scottsdale, AZ drone videographer page.
Tournaments, auctions and events
Our crew flew drones down the Las Vegas Strip and around the F1 cars at the 2022 Las Vegas Grand Prix launch party. Big ticketed events such as the WM Phoenix Open and the collector car auctions draw large crowds. Arizona law, as amended in 2026, also makes it a misdemeanor to fly a commercial drone within one mile of a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without the event's written consent, unless an exception such as a flight within FAA rules applies, so we get that consent for every show. We also check NOTAMs for event restrictions. For tournaments, galas and festivals we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Resorts, golf and brand launches
Scottsdale's resorts, golf courses and Old Town suit brand, hospitality and real estate films, filmed with the owner's approval. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Preserves, tribal land, Arizona law and airspace
The McDowell Sonoran Preserve is city land, and Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land borders the city to the east, so we fly there only with the city's or the community's approval. Arizona law makes it a felony to photograph or loiter over a critical facility, such as a power plant, substation, water plant, dam, rail yard, prison or military site, in furtherance of a crime, and a misdemeanor to fly in violation of FAA rules or in the way of police, firefighters or emergency crews. We keep those sites out of the shot unless the owner asks us to film them. Arizona bars cities, towns and counties from passing their own drone rules, but general park, film and event permit rules still apply, so we check permits with the city and the organizer. Scottsdale Airport, about 9 miles north of Old Town, has a control tower, Falcon Field in Mesa is towered too, and Phoenix Class B airspace sits over the south end of the city, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Scottsdale location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs
Can you fly over concerts and games in Arizona?
Only with the event's written consent. Arizona law makes flying a commercial drone within one mile of a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event a misdemeanor without it, and FAA stadium restrictions still apply.
Can you fly over tribal land near Scottsdale?
Only with the community's approval. Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land borders the city, and we ask before any flight over it.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Scottsdale?
It depends on the address. Scottsdale Airport has a control tower, and Phoenix Class B airspace covers the south end of the city. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
