Dayton, OH Live Event and Concert Drones

Live event drones in Dayton

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Dayton. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Dayton, OH drone videographer page.

Arenas and festivals

Our crew filmed Megan Thee Stallion's set at Rolling Loud Miami 2021 with a micro FPV drone. Dayton arenas, festivals and downtown events suit the same coverage inside the organizer's plan, and inside venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Wright-Patterson AFB

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, including the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force grounds, is a federal no-drone area around the clock. LAANC is not available at the base airfield, so addresses in its airspace need a separate FAA authorization. The Springfield-Beckley Air National Guard sites in Clark County are federal no-drone areas too.

Airspace and parks

Dayton International, about 9 miles north of downtown, has Class C airspace, and Wright-Patterson's airfield sits to the east, so many Dayton addresses need FAA authorization. Ohio lets cities, counties and park districts set drone rules for their own parks and property, so we check park and event permits before any public-space shoot. We check every Dayton location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs

Can you fly near Wright-Patterson AFB?

No. The base, including the Air Force museum grounds, is a federal no-drone area around the clock.

Do Dayton events need FAA authorization?

Often. Dayton International and Wright-Patterson's airfield cover much of the area, so we file before quoting.

What permits do you need for an event in Dayton?

It depends on the venue. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job and get the organizer's written approval.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
