Live event drones in Anchorage
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Anchorage. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Anchorage, AK drone videographer page.
Arenas and venues
Our crew flew drones inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle to film Paramore's 2023 show. Inside the Alaska Airlines Center, Sullivan Arena and other venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Outdoor festivals and races
Outdoor festivals and races are flown inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Alaska State Parks commercial filming permits keep drones out of busy public areas such as campgrounds, picnic areas, trailheads and parking lots, require 100 feet of separation from people and wildlife, and need a certificate of insurance naming the State.
Class C airspace and JBER
Ted Stevens Anchorage International sits under Class C airspace that covers much of the city, and Merrill Field and Lake Hood Seaplane Base add heavy small-plane and floatplane traffic at low altitude. Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is a federal no-drone area, closed from the ground to 400 feet around the clock. We check every Anchorage location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs
Can you fly inside the Alaska Airlines Center?
Yes, with the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and lighting.
Can you fly near JBER?
No. Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is a federal no-drone area around the clock.
Do Anchorage events need FAA authorization?
Often. Class C airspace covers much of the city, and floatplane traffic is heavy, so we file before quoting.
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
