Columbia
Game days and campus
The University of South Carolina and Williams-Brice Stadium bring big crowds on game days, and the FAA's stadium flight restriction applies within 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after major games. We plan campus and tailgate content around those windows and around university approvals. For concerts, festivals and campus events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Downtown and the rivers
The State House, the Vista and the riverfronts where the Broad and Saluda form the Congaree suit city, hospitality and development films. For lobbies, restaurants and venues an indoor one-take fly-through shows the space the way a guest sees it; see indoor fly-through tours.
Lake Murray and land rules
Lake Murray homes and land sell on the view, and we usually film them from private property. City parks need permission for drone use, and Congaree National Park bans drones without the superintendent's written approval, so we plan around both.
Airspace
Much of Columbia sits under the controlled airspace around Columbia Metropolitan Airport, so many addresses need LAANC. Fort Jackson and McEntire Joint National Guard Base are federal no-drone areas. We check every Columbia location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs
Can you fly near Williams-Brice Stadium on game days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after major games. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.
Can you fly near Fort Jackson?
No. Fort Jackson is a federal no-drone area, and we keep every flight outside its boundary.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Columbia?
It depends on the address. Much of the city is in controlled airspace near Columbia Metropolitan Airport. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Do you film Lake Murray homes?
Yes. Lakefront homes, docks and land, usually filmed from private property, with stills and video for listings.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
