Hotels, lodges and events

Our crew has flown one-take interior fly-throughs of more than 15 Charleston-area hotels for Vive Media. We fly luxury hotels and lodges, ranch and resort real estate, weddings, outdoor brands and events across Jackson Hole. For events and concerts we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Wilderness and ski areas

The Teton, Gros Ventre and Jedediah Smith areas are designated wilderness, where the Forest Service does not allow drones to take off or land. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's safety policy does not allow public drone use on or over the resort, so any production flight there must be arranged with the resort directly. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Grand Teton, Elk Refuge and Wyoming drone law

Grand Teton National Park is National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval. The same rule covers Yellowstone to the north. Jackson Hole Airport sits inside Grand Teton National Park with a control tower and Class D airspace. The National Elk Refuge next to town also prohibits drones. Wyoming law prohibits flying over or near critical infrastructure, such as power, water, rail, prison and military sites, to photograph or loiter, with an exemption for operators flying under FAA authorization and rules. Wyoming State Parks currently require the department's prior written approval for drones, and rules taking effect January 1, 2027 move that approval to the park superintendent. We check every Jackson location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs

Can you film Grand Teton National Park with a drone?

No. Drones are prohibited in the park without the superintendent's written approval. We plan aerials on private land outside the park.

Can you fly at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort?

Not without the resort's direct approval. Its policy does not allow public drone use on or over the resort.

Can you fly over the National Elk Refuge?

No. The refuge prohibits drones, so we keep shoots on private land and away from wildlife.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
