Tempe
FPV drone pilot in Tempe
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Tempe for stadium and campus content, venue fly-throughs, recruiting and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Tempe, AZ drone videographer page.
Tempe Town Lake and campus
Our crew flew sub-100-gram livestream drones for UNITY at the Sphere in Las Vegas, with the live feed shown on its immersive screen. Tempe Town Lake, the ASU campus, downtown Tempe and new communities across the East Valley suit brand, recruiting and real estate films, filmed with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Tempe, AZ live event drones.
Mountain America Stadium and Arizona law
Mountain America Stadium, the former Sun Devil Stadium, is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Arizona law, as amended in 2026, also makes it a misdemeanor to fly a commercial drone within one mile of a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without the event's written consent, unless an exception such as a flight within FAA rules applies, so we get that consent for every show. Arizona law makes it a felony to photograph or loiter over a critical facility, such as a power plant, substation, water plant, dam, rail yard, prison or military site, in furtherance of a crime, and a misdemeanor to fly in violation of FAA rules or in the way of police, firefighters or emergency crews. We keep those sites out of the shot unless the owner asks us to film them. Arizona bars cities, towns and counties from passing their own drone rules, but general park, film and event permit rules still apply, so we check permits with the city and the organizer. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.
Papago Park and airspace
The Papago Park Military Reservation, on the Phoenix side of Papago Park, and Goldwater Air National Guard Base at Sky Harbor are federal no-drone areas around the clock. Phoenix Sky Harbor sits just west of Tempe under Phoenix Class B airspace, and Chandler Municipal and Falcon Field have control towers, so most Tempe addresses need LAANC or FAA authorization. We check every Tempe location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs
Can you fly near Mountain America Stadium on game days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.
Can you fly over Tempe Town Lake?
Usually, with LAANC for Sky Harbor airspace, a legal launch spot and any city or event permit that applies. We check each launch spot before quoting.
Can you fly over concerts and games in Arizona?
Only with the event's written consent. Arizona law makes flying a commercial drone within one mile of a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event a misdemeanor without it, and FAA stadium restrictions still apply.
Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
