FPV drone pilot in Plano

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Plano for corporate campus fly-throughs, product launches, events and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Plano, TX drone videographer page.

Corporate campuses

Our crew filmed aerials of The Independent, the Austin tower known as the Jenga building, for Science Channel's Impossible Engineering. Corporate campuses around Legacy West and the Legacy business district suit brand, recruiting and real estate films, filmed with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Launches and events

Product launches and company events suit close FPV inside the production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Texas bars cities and counties from regulating drones except during permitted special events, for their own drone use, or near their own facilities with FAA approval, so we check festival and parade rules with the organizer and the city. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Plano, TX live event drones.

Airspace and Texas law

Addison Airport, just south of Plano, and McKinney National to the northeast have control towers, and higher layers of DFW's Class B airspace sit overhead, so addresses near those airports need LAANC. Texas law also covers fenced or posted critical infrastructure, such as refineries, power plants, water plants, ports and rail yards, at or below 400 feet, with the same kinds of exceptions, so we get the owner's written consent or keep those sites out of the flight path. We check every Plano location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs

Can you fly FPV inside a Plano office or campus?

Yes, with the owner's approval and a route agreed with staff. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules.

Can a Texas city set drone rules for a festival?

Yes, for permitted special events. Otherwise state law bars cities and counties from regulating drones, so we check event rules with the organizer and the city.

What permits do you need for an event in Plano?

It depends on the venue. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job and get the organizer's written approval.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
