Live event drones in Corpus Christi
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Corpus Christi. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Corpus Christi, TX drone videographer page.
Bayfront and beach events
Our crew has flown live broadcast and FPV drone coverage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. The bayfront, North Beach, Padre Island and the hotels along the shore host festivals and concerts that we fly with the property's or organizer's approval. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Naval air stations
Naval Air Station Corpus Christi is a federal no-drone area around the clock, as is NAS Kingsville to the south, and the Navy's outlying fields add military controlled airspace. We check every Corpus Christi location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Port, refineries and Texas law
The Port of Corpus Christi and the refineries along the ship channel fall under state law. Texas law also covers fenced or posted critical infrastructure, such as refineries, power plants, water plants, ports and rail yards, at or below 400 feet, with the same kinds of exceptions, so we get the owner's written consent or keep those sites out of the flight path. Texas bars cities and counties from regulating drones except during permitted special events, for their own drone use, or near their own facilities with FAA approval, so we check festival and parade rules with the organizer and the city.
Padre Island
Padre Island National Seashore is National Park Service land, where launching or landing a drone is prohibited without the superintendent's written approval.
